Premiere of the Eagle and concerts in Europe |

A little update on some upcoming events this fall and winter. The premiere of my new work for Septet the Eagle will take place on November 19 at De Bijloke in Ghent, Belgium during the Jazz&Sounds Festival. The piece will feature soprano Katrien Baerts (who is replacing Claron Mcfadden), pianist Aki Rissanen, myself on soprano saxophone and the Kryptos Quartet. Before the premiere there will be a short duo performance with Aki Rissanen. Also in November and the beginning of December I will be doing some concerts with long time associate pianist Bill Carrothers. There will be three concerts in Basel featuring bassist Nic Thys and drummer Flin van Hemmen and two duo concerts at the Sounds Jazz Club in Brussels. My NY quartet is playing this Thursday November 3 at Cornelias Street Cafe in Manhattan at 8:30pm. You will be able to hear a preview of our upcoming album that will be released next year. More info to follow soon. This quartet will also be touring Europe in March of 2012. Tourdates will soon be added to the calendar section. |

The coming months I will be on the road in Europe again. First of all, I'm very happy to be bringing my NY Quartet back to Europe. We will be playing five concerts in Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany and also give a masterclass. After that we will go into the recording studio to work on my new album that is scheduled for release during our tour in March 2012. Dates can be found in the calendar section. In April I will be touring and recording with Aki Rissanen. We will record in trio for the Finnish radio with the fantastic drummer Markku Ounaskari. After that we will play some more trio concerts in Finland followed by some duo concerts in Belgium. From the end of April till the 10th of May I will tour with Michael Bates Outside Sources with the great Swiss trombone player Samuel Blaser, drummer Jeff Davis and of course Michael Bates on double bass. At the moment I'm still working on the comission I got from the Bijloke in Gent. The première of this 45-minute piece will be performed on November 19 and will feature soprano Claron Mcfadden, pianist Aki Rissanen and the Kryptos String Quartet. |

New Record Narcissus and other news |

I'm very happy to announce that the new record of Narcissus 'Narcissus No.2' is now released on W.E.R.F. The record can be purchased through the website www.dewerf.be, I-tunes or by contacting me personally. From the 25th of April till the 10th of May we will celebrate the release of this record with a tour in the Netherlands and Belgium. This winter I will spent most of my time working on a commission I received by the concert hall De Bijloke in Gent. The premiere of this work will take place in the fall of 2011. It will feature a string quartet, soprano voice, saxophone and piano. Upcoming tours next spring: The Robin Verheyen NY Quartet will tour Europe from the 24th of March till the 3th of April. We will also record a new album during that tour. In April I will tour again with Finnish pianist Aki Rissanen in Finland and Belgium, we will also play trio with drummer Markku Ounaskari and record for the Finnish Radio. This winter some concerts will take place in NY with Rosco Paje and other bands, check the calendar for all dates.
